option A tesionmeter...which i think makes sense if you build on racing hubs or carbon rims......but basically just the feel......and also if you squeeze the pararel pair of spokes they shouldn't move more that coupla of mils.....depending obviously on the combo of hubs and rims......strangely i have never snapped a spoke.....rounding nipples yes:-)
