everyone i ride with gave up on steel, switched to carbon okay so they beat me on the climbs, but boy i overtook most descending.. steel is real strong yet very flexible lasts for ever, comfortable too i have italian track bike frame and road bike condor italia 1996 got me over 19 cols and 10,000ft of climbing in the alps in 8 days.. carbon frames are too stuff for me, responsive yes.. alloy ?!?? forget it not interested...
