Wanted: Vintage-look brake lever

Posted on
  • Someone told me about a site that has lots of vintage-style parts... I'm after a break leaver to replace my Gld Finger, which looks a bit modern.

The site has 'Squid' in the name I think.

Or does anyone have one for sale?

    Cheers

  • You want a vintage-looking flat-bar brake lever?
I would look at the cheap chromed pressed-steel one from SJS or these dia-compe for £15.

  • i've got a pair of nice looking weinmann retro levers with details on the lever themselves, and a similar clamp as the ones shown in provenrad's post
£10 the pair if you like, will get photos on tonight or in the morning.....

Perhaps you mean www.freshtripe.co.uk After all tripe has a similar consistency to squid. Paul at FreshTripe often sells nice things, not sure what lever he has at the mo.

  • Nice one, thanks for all of that. It was Fresh tripe I was thinking of.

Those levers look good, although I have mostache bars, so I don't know if hey will fit will they?

Cheers Town... I work in Clerkenwell so could come get it any time.

Do you think they will fit swept back Moustache bars?

  • ...I reckon it would - you're welcome to try anyway!
I only have the one but will bring it in tomorrow, work near St Johns Square, I'll pm you my number.
