thanks for the guide greenbank! i agree the a10 is a bit nasty, gt shelford would be our route back (well not me, i'm bailing there ala asseen), i've purposefully left duxford, ickleton, whittlesford et al out as i've cycled round there millions of times. the slightly western route i've shown is much prettier but more remote. the roads are generally single lane tarmac undulating through some beautiful countryside :) it almost reminds me of south france doing that route, without the cheese and garlic.
