Slack Chain!! :)

• #6503
Finally got my bike built up after what seems like months of preparation!
14 frame, with nice Columbus SL tubing, Sugino 75 chain set, Rigida wheels, and a beatiful set of vintage mooustache bars from Tour De Ville.
Only thing is the frame has an Ahead stem system, which I think spoils the look a bit (I'm a sucker for the aesthetics)... I've heard about a nice sleek Ahead stem, but I can't remember the brand...
Any suggetions?
Cheers.

Nice bike mate, the guys at CC are always pretty helpful. I like the shop alot.
They were great. Three weeks ago i wandered in on a recommendation and asked if they could spare ten minutes for someone who knew sod all about fixed wheel bikes. I walked out having bought a frame.
After countless subsequent visits I could understand them when they were saying " a 47/18 combination will give you about 70 gear inches on a 700c wheel, similar to riding the smallest cog on the cassette with the middle ring".
I could also contact component suppliers and confidently ask for 130cm BCD 3/32" chainrings and could they tell me the taper please...
One of the guys even sold me one of his own saddles after i fruitlessly searched for the one i wanted.
So top marks for service and help.
Like it! What cranks are they?
They are De Rosa 50th Anniversary cranks. They are the bit i like most about the bike!

Chainring on the inside?

Chainring on the inside?
To do with chainline alignment. Chainring on the outside would have been troublesome.

Been on here a month getting info and advice for my new bike....The stealth job below is the result. I love it, and rode it for the first time on the memorial ride.
New bike, custom made for me by the nice fella's at Cavendish Cycles. They were very very helpful, I'd recommend them to anyone.
Trusty old road bike.
And trusty old face.
i saw you ride by actually. was gonna comment on your wheels, as they looked like h+son rims to pauls hubs !?!? the same as my front !!
i was on the other stealth'd out track bike, with black rear spok.
"stealthin" seems to be very popular over the last 6months !!

They are H+ rims, front and back, with Halo hubs.
I did notice a few other similar bikes, and they all looked good. Great minds and all that! In fact i was drooling over most bikes at the start and at the pub afterwards. Some were just outrageously good, and now i want to get another.
You should have said hello, although on the ride itself i was heads down trying not to make a tit of myself as i adjusted my riding style to riding fixed wheel.
^^^^
Oh and thanks t-4003 for comment. -

After building three bikes from the ground up I've just gone OTP.
61cm of "Made in Taiwan" speed- currently running the out of the box 49/15 ratio, which is slow to get going but great fun when you get up to speed.
i think with the more high end OTP's its mainly about the frame whip some nice parts on and you've got a bangin whip.
i really like the fuji track pros

Just thought I'd update as there's a new addition to my little cycling family..
The old Motobecane conversion, the new (to me) vintage Bianchi (gotta love Italian steel) and myself looking slightly smarter than usual..
