Pipe for polo mallet heads?

Was wondering - which is preferred, the blue or the yellow?

I got one yellow head a while ago, and just got some blue from Dante - looks thicker and smaller diameter.
Does it last better?
Does it mean less need to cap the end?
Heavier?
any advice appreciated. I will build with it this week anyways

The blue and yellow are the same grade of HPDE, the external sizes are usually identical but occasionally you can find 50mm external diameter blue pipe.

You can use the 60extD pipe uncapped quite easily (we have until recently).

I've been using a 50mm uncapped mallet which is tiny 855mm long which I love but others would hate. Similarly I can't seem to play with anything longer than 950mm anymore

The best recommendation I can give is build lots of different mallets and try them all out until you find something you're comfortable with (or borrow lots of other peoples mallets when ever you play)

I am trimming + capping my yellow one today.
There is trial and error, for sure!
Got a shorter length, skinnier grip, and smaller head than when I started.

Nice, feel free to try one of mine sometime if you want to try a silly short mallet.

could they either hit me up with a bit, or measure the inside and outside diameters precisely?

Mallet heads are usually fine. It's the shafts that I ruin.
Just found a ski shop selling new poles for £8 a pair though.

Ooooo, good work. Got some off ebay at £8 a pair too but obviously had to wait for delivery.

Asked them about a bulk discount and they said it's only cheaper on orders of 150 pairs or more.
Have sent them your number so you can split the costs with James Brown. ;)

James doesn't need it, he only snaps other peoples mallets.

They fucking ugly but 125cm long 18mm diameter & 5083 aluminium so pretty standard.
