last Thurs-yes- I was there, and I had food and a pint, went outside to make a phone call, one doesn't want the Missus to know one is enjoying one's self... came back in - ok the plate was empty and was taken away, but my 1/3 of pint was also removed- argh factor came in- I spoke to the Barman I can't understand, and he gave me a 1/2 to replace the one he'd removed without too much bother.
He's bit quick off the starting gate, so do leave your drink in safety, otherwise he'll have you!
And he gave me the 1/2 in a 1/2 pint flippin' glass -that's for girls!, a pint glass is the order of the day, can't get the nose in a 1/2 pint glass- grrrrrrrr.....

- Anglesea Arms
- The Old Fire Station
- Brook Green Hotel
And avoid anything on King St like the plague.

Sorry but IMHO theQueens head has been totally ruined by the 'refurb'.
It's all bloody laminate tables and laminate floors. Sticky-backed plastic.
Nice garden still exists. -

The bar manager looked well chuffed!
I didn't have the heart to tell him that spotlights fitted above the bar aren't the best idea.
It's lost it's charm for me.I now go to Martins wine bar down the road (by Latymer Court) for a weeknight pint.
It's like the 80s all over again! and has a friendly landlord.
Kudos to him for closing on the weekends. -
