• across the road from the theatre is a nice pub. good grub too. set back a little bit, can't remember what it's called though, hope that helps

• Hop Poles ain't too bad, wouldn't spend a whole night in there though.

• last Thurs-yes- I was there, and I had food and a pint, went outside to make a phone call, one doesn't want the Missus to know one is enjoying one's self... came back in - ok the plate was empty and was taken away, but my 1/3 of pint was also removed- argh factor came in- I spoke to the Barman I can't understand, and he gave me a 1/2 to replace the one he'd removed without too much bother.

He's bit quick off the starting gate, so do leave your drink in safety, otherwise he'll have you!

And he gave me the 1/2 in a 1/2 pint flippin' glass -that's for girls!, a pint glass is the order of the day, can't get the nose in a 1/2 pint glass- grrrrrrrr.....

• You want to be extra careful now that hippy's back, too.

• Nah, El Diablo might push me off the turbo if I nick his pint.. :)

• the tapas bar at the tube station (ham and city line station) do 2 for one cocktails... and 2 for one bottle beers....

• No... more.... TAPAS!

Cocktails would make an interesting eve though..

• Hippo I'd go for:

• Stonemasons Arms
• Andover Arms
• Anglesea Arms
• The Old Fire Station
• Brook Green Hotel

And avoid anything on King St like the plague.

• Secrets

• The Old Fire Station is a magnet for bell-ends and mini-skirts.

• The Old Fire Station is my local.

.

• Proper mad editing skillz Pip

• Sharp like a bee Dovo. Sharp like a Bee

• I might actually show up next week! I was wondering if anyone had any tube cutters they could bring with so that I can finally fit my new forks!

• if it's not too late...the queen's head on brook green?? I can't remember if you can get to the garden with your bike without going through the pub though...

• Sorry but IMHO theQueens head has been totally ruined by the 'refurb'.
It's all bloody laminate tables and laminate floors. Sticky-backed plastic.
Nice garden still exists.

• Hehehe. ikea theme pub. Good to hear they haven’t ruined/laminated the garden

• The bar manager looked well chuffed!
I didn't have the heart to tell him that spotlights fitted above the bar aren't the best idea.
It's lost it's charm for me.

I now go to Martins wine bar down the road (by Latymer Court) for a weeknight pint.
It's like the 80s all over again! and has a friendly landlord.
Kudos to him for closing on the weekends.

• Have you ever been to The Chancellors on Crisp Road opposite the riverside Studios, that used to be a great pub.

• any one near bricklane today?
need a favour

• How near and which bit?

• I'm there today murtle - gonna have a sneaky look at 14

give us a shout and i'll bring it to westies

• cheers b dubya. see you lot this eve.
