Well, having been told to HTFU by just about everyone with a bike in London (and some beyond) I shall so do.
The dropouts will be bare of paint pretty soon, as it is flaking off completely now.
As long as it only exposes the dropouts this will be fine, and possibly even an improvement.
I still have a slight concern that it will flake off the legs of the forks also, but time will tell.
