My white handlebar tape gets all dirty and shit. What's the best environmentally-friendly cleaning agent I can use, and do you think a layer of Scotch Tape over the top would also improve the numb hands situation?

I'm not going to bother reading all the posts on this thread but I just want to say that I think its all a bit pathetic.
I'm a girl, I ride a bike, in fact the first pictures on here are me and my friends.I have achieved lots of good things and the reason this thread started was to show that girls are out there participating in big events, raising money and being proud of their charms too.
I know the thread then descended into Picture after picture of soft bike porn but so be it !
I'm not worried about the boys on the forum. The range of threads is enormous, so whats the harm in one or two catering to the fact that boys like girls and boys like bikes, therefore both (often with few clothes) is attractive.
I know they respect us and they are more than happy to post positive comments on threads bigging up girls achievements.
I would not be the cyclist I am today if it was not for the amount of support that the boys I cycle with have given me.
I am building a really good circle of female riders. As much as its lovely to support the female cause, I wont be forgetting that until recently meeting girls through this forum it has always been the boys that were supportive and happy to treat you as an equal. -

The real thing is, RP, that nearly everything out there that has to do with women and cycling, at least in mainstream media, is about how hot they look on their bike. I'm tired of seeing loads and loads of the attitude that women are only there to look good, not to ride hard.
There is a difference between meeting and talking to real people, and the over all attitude there is in society about women. I'm not exactly a man hating femi-bike natzi, but I prefer seeing other female cyclists doing something more interesting then getting their kit off on or near a bike.

Tut tut! This is a cycling website, so expect an spd or a vans. Keep your cultural references strait, young man.
