  • works in google chrome on PC. try http://www.itvlocal.com/london/news/?player=LON_News_15&void=288975 and click on london tonight (possibly takes two goes, wait for Mandy to get out of the way) - and wait for the advert to run (works at least my pc)

  • macs = garbage.

  • Wonderful ride. I was far too in awe of everyone to really speak to any forumengers but found the whole thing very moving.

Found myself doing a bit ofoutriding at a few points as well as trailing in last at NH.

Far too modest to post my own photos of the day but enjoying looking at everyone else's' and actually recognising a few people.

    Ride safe.

  • thanx out to all who came up with, supported, organized and truly elegantly made this ride happen. my thoughts go out to this girl, who had us all to ride her way once more. ... a day, that i will not forget.

thanx as well to the SE guys and girls, who let me tail them to get there and from smoothly! it's such a mace to me.

  • Iconic picture of Murtle.

Teenagers will put that on their wall, years from now.

  • Great ride everyone! Big thanks to all the organisers..

Lovely day made all the nicer by the sentiment and togetherness of our special community..

  • great day, great people, great cause, hats off to the organizers. i just love riding in big packs, makes you glad to be alive. Thanks everybody and well done.

  • Today just goes to show that when the forum works together it can achieve something beautiful and truly inspirational.
Maybe today can be a catalyst for stopping all the petty arguments that have been happening on the forum lately...which i too have been guilty of being involved in.
To disagree with somebody is no bad thing, and simply marks us out as true individuals...but to resort to nasty, abusive, name calling is only self destructive, both to the forum as a whole and to a persons soul.

As was shown today on the memorial ride, life is far too short, so why waste it on directing our hatred towards the very people we chat to, laugh with, and on occasion disagree with?

The forum itself may be a faceless entity hidden away behind our computer screens, but the thousands of people who make it what it is are clearly some of the most loving, caring, and inspiring individuals we will probably ever meet...and today, everybody on this ride did just that...met each other face to face.

I never knew you Eilidh...but there was still an overwhelming sense of loss on the roads today.
Rest in peace Eilidh...your spirit will live on in everybody who rides.

  • I arrived at the meeting point yesterday, amongst soooooo many friendly people - and was then whisked away on an amazing journey through London, chatting to some, smiling to others.
My journey back to Birmingham was very hazy, as i continually imagined what it must have been like for Eilidhs family and friends to see us all cruising by....
An image i will always remember.

Everyone that took part in cooling the traffic down, was fantastic. People were stopped in their tracks as we passed - with people up high in windows waving us on.
I'm sure Eilidh was doing the same.

  • Lovely, respectful ride. Good to see so many riders there and was nice for me to put names to faces. Will definetly not be my last ride with you all. Many thanks to all who helped with traffic duties and organized, we felt very safe. Ride Safe All.

  • yesterday was very humbling experience. i think it very comforting to know that if anything were to happen to anyone of us the friends and family we left behind would not be left to walk or cry alone.

nuff respeck to all of you.

  • no problem matty - what comes around goes around.

Very good of you! I will keep it in my bag in the hopes of helping someone else out who's in a similar situation.

  • What a beautiful day!
    Love to all those involved.

  • I was moved. I didn't know Eilidh, but i came to pay tribute to a fellow cyclist, and to show her family and friends that the world does care about this. I will remember the ride, and Eilidh, and those she left behind.

Thank you to everyone who helped it go smoothly, and to the drivers who had patience with us.

  • Spokecards raised £486 plus paypal donations for the ones that were posted out

    great work peeps

  • Yup, and we still have the £1,021 from the donations. This is going to be gift-aided to increase it's value. Perhaps whoever is submitting the spokecard money wants to also run it under a personal donation so that they can gift-aid it?

  • awesome effort from everyone yesterday - big fat thanks to lfgss forumongers, what a wonderful wicked, fun and moving day out... like eilidh, yesterday live forever in my memory

    piece out doods

  • First ride I've been on and was very moved by the whole event, instant sense of community and meeting some nice peeps. Evryone deserves a big pat on their backs.

  • A massive well done to all involved in creating the memorial ride. Am so annoyed that I couldn't make it. Welling up after watching the ITV clip.

  • BIG RESPECT to the organisers of yesterday's ride!
Special shout outs to the guys & girls marshaling us through town - i noticed some first class taxi driver anger management going on!

The smiles, love and warmth reminded me of the Eilidh that I knew.

    Thanks X

  • ...forgot to ask if there's any spoke cards still knocking about?
i missed out and donated via the site a couple of weeks back.

thanks again to all for a truly memorable day

  • wow, i can't possibly say any more than everyone else has.
great day, perfect weather, absolutely great turn out.
thanks to all the organisers and people stopping the traffic etc.
it could not have been a more rememberal day.

  • couldn't agree more.. everything was so lovely. thanks for everyone that organised and worked with the traffic, and really great to meet other peeps.. really glorious. really pleased to hear we've raised so much money and so much awareness too..
