Yeah i used to race there and will be doing the summer race season starting May. It's a lot better to ride than it looks in those pictures and is really fun, though like Messenjah says, Manchester dicks on it. If your a student it's only about £30 to join the club i think, then you can go to all the sessions free. Def worth it. Check their website for details on training etc. Also, they sometimes organise trips to Manchester (and Newport i think) and book the track out for a day which are well good to get on.
