i'm curious to know how much of the film was preplanned.
from what they filmed, it look like they have several hours of footage, choose the one that look smooth and tidy, and put them in the final rolls giving us the impression that the entire ride is smooth and seamless, plus they have been filming for 2 years (I think, can't remember).
it's simply a case of editing, in the DVD there's a handful of outtake that show just how 'seamless' they are (a handful of hairy moment).
