  • I'm recanting. Don't buy them for all the white powdercoat in China.

I stripped the rear hub on my Aerorage (after 3 months of trouble-free riding) and found myself doing a nice relaxing freewheel into oncoming traffic when I should have been stopped at a junction.

Apparently the rep said that they hadn't had any returns on them yet, so obviously that's cool. No need to take defects seriously, so long as it's a new product that you've just released!

Sorry MrSmith. You were obstreperous but also completely right.

In fairness, I should add that my front wheel (also Aerorage) hasn't bent, caught fire or attempted to smother me yet.

Do you work in a shop or did you buy the wheel from an outlet? If the latter, then you should go through the shop where you bought the wheel and they will deal with Halo. If the hub has broken due to a manufacture defect then it will be under warranty. If you did try to contact Halo directly having bought it from a dealer, this may explain the attitude you got from them... Who was it you talked to? Did you get a name?

I have had the rear aerorage wheel for a couple of months now and not had any problems. As for the thread 'looking' shit, get the anodised black ones. they 'look' pretty sweet.
