London: Chock full of wankers

have any of you guys been victim of stolen handlebars.? it seems theres no solution but not to leave your bike unattended for long periods of time in london, (i have the biggest krypo chain due to my other bike being stolen) but this, i just didnt see it coming.!

That shit's fucked up.

A friend of mine (who was a courier at the time) had his bars nicked off his bike about eight or so years ago. They had Ultegra equipment on it and he'd locked his bike well. They cut all the cables and got the bars. He got a lift home from a friendly cabbie who said he used to work as a courier, too.

that is a new one. easily done i suppose if you have an a-head.

ahead is the easiest way to removed handlebar, when you get a new one, superglue ball bearing in the bolts to make it harder for allen keys to get in.

As I said above, on my friend's bike they just cut the cables.

thing is, its probably a guy that like bikes rather than a gypos that ride MTBs and view anything else as gay. he needed the handlebars or knew they were wortha bob or two, knowing i would have to wheel it all the way home.

oh and i had brakes but they left the cailper in good working order, rather considerate, no cable cut.
