I wish I could find out for certain - I've lost contact with the racer I bought it from him, and have no idea who the maker was.
if I got the frame weighed, would that give any indication? or maybe I could get a veteran frame-builder to have a look over and take a guess.
I took a bike to Roberts and Chas no less looked at the frame...now this frame is not top notch...but he said there is no way of telling what tube is present....he said the key things to look for if it is 531 db or SL or competition etc....the shape of the chainstays..good 531 if oval...and the quality of the work around the seat cluster...but if Chas Roberts says it can't be done with any great degree of confidence ...who am i to argue!...You can look on the internet at weight weenies or velobase or classic lightweights...or email Hilary Stone...hope that helps.
