As i am looking to start competing in 10mile TTs, road races and hopefully track (not relevant to this wheelset) this summer, am thinking of getting the carbon wheels rebuilt.
I have been quotes £670 from the wheelbuilder at trigon to rebuild them; he will replace everything bar hubs. This is way too much money to spend on a wheelset IMO for my standard and general funds. The wheels are the same as HED Stinger 50mm wheels found here; http://www.onetri.com/stinger-front-wheel-2008-p-1000.html
My current idea is to get the hubs rebuilt by another forum member onto H Plus Son rims, rather then a carbon rim, as i feel they are far more durable. Just to add, i would prefer to run tubs (as these are for comp use only)
My budget for the rebuild would be a maximum of £200, as i would only require nipples, spokes and a pair of rims and £20 for labour.
Can anyone suggest recommended parts which are lightweight and durable, which i should consider?
Hi all,
I currently have a set of carbon 50mm wheels, which have cracked/unusable rims after a crash and general use.
I currently ride on a set of falcrum 7s found here;

With Conti Gatorskins 700c x 23 Tyres.
