• I had the bestest double espresso today from the cafeteria in a tower block, it was very smooth and creamy and barely bitter, and complex-ish. It's a shame that espressos are so short and that some 'proper' cafes cannot always produce such awesomeness.

pleeease tell me where, im dying of thirst ya hear, wheez

• It was centre city tower on Hill St. Be warned though; they can vary from very bitter and horrible, to very smooth and lovely. I'd say it's been about 50/50 so far.

• its alive!

• The espresso in coffee republic is the best. If the person making it actually puts some effort in, they are amazing.

• i like to go mountain biking and am especially interested in finding someone moderately fit/experienced who would like to do daytrips to welsh trail centres during the week. not very likely, but there we go. i have a car, but the petrol cost on your own is not realistic.

dan i do a fair bit of mountain biking, i've probably done most of the trail centres in wales, i think the cli-machx trail is my favorite of the ones i've done.
have you ever been up to cannock chase? i've been going up there off and on for the past 5-6 years and know it pretty well. there are lots of shortish trails up there which aren't offical and so don't get publiscised but are great to link together for a longer ride.

Cool, I'll try them. That's on Temple Row isn't it, by Great Western Arcade? How much is a double?

• er...it was 1.59 when i worked there, that was a few years ago.
make sure they reheat the cup!
the one on newhall street is good too, often quiter and with a handy lampost just outside the front window so you can see your locked up bike...

• no really! this is an off topic (OT) thread about off topics. this place could do with some. things have gone a bit dry.
so who likes Off Topics??
let the discussion begin!

Previous to Coldsnawas the best card in Standard. By "best card" I don't mean that it was some kind of bannable babycake, but that it had an insanely relevant effect on the development of a great many games, and consistently. It was very common for an aggressive player to crumple in his chair like veteran tinfoil when the Blue mage, on the draw, showed a Spell Snare before playing his second land.

I have probably mentioned this already, but Spell Snare was initially quite underwhelming in our sting, specifically in CMU (Cuneo or Schneider, take your pick) Blue decks versus Zoo. Spell Snare was out.

Meanwhile t Champs last year (I mean, some people who were very forward-seeing, and recognized the power ofin control and stuff like that, might have), but everyone *eventually *recognized the effectiveness of this card and it became Staple almost across the board.

Like Spell Snare, Remand was under-performing in at least some decks (for example, U/G beatdown against In our playtest session last weekend made a leap that separately suggested to me and tore the Remands from our U/G deck like a suckling newborn from her mother's bosom; then, like a murderous Fanatic bent on killing babies, hurled poor ooh ooh gah gah Remand into the Snow.

As our gauntlets have evolved, my attitudes on Spell Snare and Remand have started to come [back] around. Spell Snare was often mis-played as a sideboard card against aggressive decks (it sure deals witt was realized what a stone cold killer the card was in maindeck. The interesting thing about Spell Snare in this format is that I want it back in my control decks, but for almost opposite reasons than it was originally played.

Versus Black:
Rakdos - You want Spell Snare on the draw against Maher if you can stick it.
takes off, you may want to Spell Snare that. You may want to let it resolve early (for example, you can conveniently discard somethingut late game, you don't really want the opponent to be able to answer Akroma for BB.
os has few outs against the good control finishers. Unless you have something like a k up splash, you will probably want Spell Sn
Solar Flare Variants - One of the best uses of a Spell Snare pre-Time Spiral was coustructs which can be used to obscure a statement. Jargon is less specific and thus less clear than ordinary English. When management uses jargon to clarify a point it frequently obscures the truth. Occasionally, management may use jargon to hide their own lack of knowledge when answering employee's questions. This book attempts to clarify the meaning of management jargon. The explanations of the terms may not be accepted by all. Common use may dictate completely different meanings. New words are added to management jargon all the time. Also, the meanings of individual phrases change over time. While every effort has been taken in the preparation of this book, the author assumes no responsibility for any errors and/or omissions, or for any damages reMens 80-talls nostalgien er på hell og 90-talls nostalgien er på vei inn, vil vi holde litt fast ved et høyt respektert, men altfor lite kjent band som ga ut ett av sine beste album i overgangen mellom de to tiårene.

y way Solar Flare could beat U/W Control (happy Chapin, Aten, whoever?) was to get a mana advantage on Signets or force a game winner with Remand. Those cards cost two mana.
Any Permission Deck - Most of the good counters cost two mana. Spell Snare counters two mana cards.

It may be a sign of in-breeding, or at leas good again [in Zoo]. I've been playing without Hammer from the outset for this format. Just a thought.

• yeah, i go up to cannock now and then. this sunday was great actually, very dry. my boss lives near and knows all the secret trails. i'm going to give it a go on my fixed soon, when the weather dries up.

wales is where it's at though.

• Do not buy Somerset Brie from Tesco, it's disgusting stuff. Brie is supposed to be soft, this stuff's hard as f**k, maybe it's been aged for longer than the ones that I've had in the past.

I'm tempted to take it back and get a refund man

• Does anyone wanna start an illegal cheese smuggling racket? We could make thousands of pounds by smuggling proper Camembert across borders

• I've just let a small bit of piss out..... Messenjah - that's quality....

• I almost doubled up and pissed myself when I saw the illegal cheese smuggling article in The Ecologist. My face soon straightened when I realised that it was serious business, no laughing matter.

I say if people want to eat cheese made from unpasteurised milk, let them eat it, at their own risk of course. Although, in a way, I suppose it's better that it's illegal, because the taboo makes it more desirable, and illegal things are generally more profitable. I don't think I need to specify examples. I could do with another beer but I've run out :(

• I am scared of getting knocked off my bike, but sometimes I almost want it to happen, so I can kill the driver in revenge. A bit like a few twisted nutcases who join the army so that they have a perfect excuse to kill people. I never used to jump red lights, but it's fun, it's exciting, and fuck it, if I'm not risking hitting any pedestrians then why not. I've been hit twice and both times the driver got away with it. I was following the rules, they weren't, and the rules didn't protect me or get me some sort of justice, neither did the people who are supposed to enforce the law. The only bad thing about jumping reds is that it makes me feel dishonest, and like I'm not a 'proper cyclist' or a 'proper road user'. It gives people a reason to hate me and other cyclists. And it tars my reputation. At least if you stick to the rules, then you always have the moral high ground if you get hit; no-one can say "he always jumps red lights, no wonder he got hit" - and they will think that, even if you weren't jumping a red when you got hit. But one thing I won't do is ride the wrong way down busy one-way streets, like this dickhead who shot down Bennett's Hill without looking to see if anything was crossing from Waterloo street. If I'd left my start point one or two seconds earlier she would have hit me, hard. I wonder who would have come out worse off, me or her. Hopefully her. I would have made her pay if there was any damage to me or my bike, I tell thee. Wait a minute, I'm talking about cycling. This is not off topic this is on topic. Cease and decist. Over and out!!!

• Is unpasturised cheese illegal?

What a bunch of pansies we are!

We should all be munching on casu marzu like real men.

i sometimes want to get hit, not enough to hurt but just enough so the driver feels bad and gives me money for a new bike. im aware this probably will never happen but it does in my mind.

on the topic of off topic, when it starts to get slightly warm i'm sure if i listen to light hearted music i can coax out more sun. last weekend when it was warm (in london) i listened to some good positive music and it worked! anyone think the same? a scientific theory yet to be proved or ramblings of a mad man?

• I'm currently doing a sundance.

• It worked
