I'm recanting. Don't buy them for all the white powdercoat in China.
I stripped the rear hub on my Aerorage (after 3 months of trouble-free riding) and found myself doing a nice relaxing freewheel into oncoming traffic when I should have been stopped at a junction.
Apparently the rep said that they hadn't had any returns on them yet, so obviously that's cool. No need to take defects seriously, so long as it's a new product that you've just released!
Sorry MrSmith. You were obstreperous but also completely right.
In fairness, I should add that my front wheel (also Aerorage) hasn't bent, caught fire or attempted to smother me yet.
work in a bike shop so got these for trade so seemed like a deal to be honest (above the charge wheelset anyway) as i aint got the dough to build a new set)
and to be honest the hub and bearing quality body wise is great as well as rims, and they look great
the only thing imo that lets these hubs down is thread
but within one week my rear is fucked
so it will be going back to id and it will be getting changed ill make sure of that, and ill make sure they know that there are a few other peeps that know that there shit too.
so folks dont buy them just yet and build a system ex set for the same money(as i have done in the past) as for now you will be better off
