I don't think you should have to justify CM anymore than people should have to justify pride.
It's a party that may annoy others, some make the annoyance their reason for participating, but they are really in the minority... the reason for most to go is to have a bit of a party and maybe raise the profile...

Too true, but I think that for a lot of people in our society a few hours per month thinking about anyone's world but their own is too high an expectation.

In all honesty I think that critical mass does more to damage the cause of cycling than anything else.
I've been, and enjoyed it, but I wished I was not there as the pack went to go around parliament square for the third time.For the people trapped there a neutral perception of cyclists was transformed into active dislike.
