The tyres is stock! some people do buy a bike purely for it look as well as transportation.

They will (maybe) learn.

Errrm, aside from looks and utilitarian considerations how else do people determine good bikes from bad bikes?

By whether they plug a gap in the market and by how much people charge you for them.

Come on, it might not be everyone's cup of tea but surely it's nice to see some British built stuff for a change. And for an OTP all of the Charge styles are pretty good
err sticker on my housemates standard plug reads tiawank (ok, the k was me and tipex)

You mention 'utilitarian considerations' like it ain't all that. I guess with that you'd include unimportant things... like how it goes, stops, rides, handles and if it's suitable for it's intended purpose?

Don t get me wrong, I was the proud owner of a 2006 Langster which got stolen and I ended up being saddled with a plug freestyler by an evans salesman, as I needed to go home. So for me, literally, the plug is the new Langster. Now, beyond style and image, which is what it is and that I don t mind: my Langster was much sharper (I had upgraded components and it was the old, tighter, geometry), and the hubs of the freestyler are a shame, non sealed bearings, which do not withstand any kind of abuse, I already need to change mine.
I am willing to say it was poorly set up and I should have checked, also that I had to upgrade these anyway, but for this price those hubs are just a rip-off.

Balderdash.
They aren't light but they certainly aren't super heavy.
yes they are.
^^^Not for their intended purpose: road abuse.
My point exactly.
Abuse.
That is all.

can we just get this straight, an otp is never going to be exciting, interesting or worth posting much about. the charges used to be an interesting, well put together (ish) line and are now fashionista and shoreditch wannabe bail outs. get some imagination and build your own yeah, it's what half the enjoyment is!

and does being made in Taiwan mean it's rubbish?
My boss has a Plug in our studio. It's a fucking ornament and never gets ridden. I think he thinks it makes him/us/the company look down-with-the-'fixie'-kids. :-P
I'm totally embarrassed by it.
Also... you can tell that bike (pictured above) is ridden by a noob fixie fanboy because it's got shit tyres, stock pedals, too many brakes, too many relectors, and yeah... one of those chains.
