My mate interviewed me on the top of that building - nice view of Walsall from up there - for his college multimedia course, and filmed me riding at the skatepark up the road. But by that time I had gone shit at BMX and could hardly do any tricks. It would have been nice to have had footage from when I was at my best, so I could show potential future grandkids what a stuntmaster Grandad was back in his day...
The skatepark that me and Scott Perkins helped to get built after nuff petitions to the council and articles in the press, got knocked down by bastard developers a few years back :( We spent years campaigning to get that park built, but the council would only do something after there was a big uproar about skaters damaging the street furniture in the town centre. There were big articles in the local papers basically condemning skaters and bmxers for grinding the walls on the new multi-million pound fountain outside T*sco, so the timing couldn't have been more perfect for us to deliver the petition to the council and get our response into the papers. About six months later we had our own tiny but really well-built skatepark, it was fucking ace, but we were 19 by then - we would have been way better at BMX if we had had a local park when we were younger instead of having to mission up to Derby Storm (RIP) every weekend...
It's too 'futuristic' for my tastes.
