Hi vis or not, driving like a bellend is going to get you killed. I find as long as you are acertive in your actions, signal in good time, show your intentions clearly and follow through safely, people will treat you like any other vehicle. The Hi-vis just makes it more likely for drivers to see you. That's it. It won't save you from a 44t vehicle's blind spot and won't stop you from getting crushed or shoved off the road. The reason people cycle dangerously with them on is not because they think it has magic superpowerzzz which give you infity life, but because they assume that they are automatically targetted by driver's eyes and are therefore safe.
Also, chill out you cunts :)
