I bought a pair of those mountain bike SPD shoes and they're quite nice!
I wanted to grab a pair of the cheap cycling shorts but they only had the XXXXXXL size left :-(

lidl can be a proper goldmine when it comes to cheap stuff... I have a pare of Lidl special gloves, served me well for nearly 2 years, waterproof and all, for around £3, IIRC...

they had some "work gloves" ie not in cycling section, £5 ish in red and with palm pads etc, only in a medium in the Lidl in Pinner version, but may have others in other stores- now for that money they're good for biking if you have medium size hands..... :-((((
Shorts- suggest try another store nearby? They may have less than "Lard Arse" sizes...
Now an arse that xxxxxxxxl size, must wrap around the sides of the saddle to touch the seat post- yep, I have seen it, gross isn't the word! Reminds me of a song by Dione Warwark- " bog seat breaker......" or was it heart ...

I picked a pair of the MTB shoes, they are pretty good for the money. And a wierd track pump for 3 quid, works well though!

I ended up buying a pair of the 'ladies capri' cycle leggings because I really wanted some 3/4 lengths and to me they looked the same.

Hardly, they look rather dashing.

I got a pair of the blokes shorts - only had large, but I took a chance and they fit reasonably well. Very comfortable, yet to see if they'll perform over a longer distance.

I had a look yesterday, didn't buy anything because there was nothing I need there. I would have bought a pair of the shoes had it not been for the fact I already bought a pair a few weeks back! So if you're looking for the shoes and you miss them this week, it's worth a look at any time as it wasn't a cycling week when I bought them.
