Toshi double straps w/ MKS Sylvan pedals

Apparently it stops the straps from moving/slipping. I find it hard to believe those fuckers would move given how tiny those holes on the pedal are. Who cares anyway? It looks cool, innit. :)

I think the twist is to help stop it slipping round.
@wools - you have quill pedals, not the end of the world! thread the straps through the quill part also.

The guide i linked to shows one way of threading straps, there is another method where the rearmost strap goes through the holes in the back plate. there is a picture of this method in the Planet x thread.

Think i'm gonna have to do this tomorrow, just looking at that flickr guide, why do you have to twist the straps?!

ive often thoguht about putting the twist in, but never really saw the point. does it make that much of a diffrence?

I read somewhere that the twist stops it slipping round. I have not tried it though.

Christ they're a bastard to fit, from what I read, there's no difference between the road one and the track one beside the extra bit of metal near the cap?

if you put a bit of vaseline on the strap then pull it through with pliers its not too difficult

sod it, I'll just put two cheap strap in each wheel and a doublizer for the time being until I find a track one (got the road one for free).

Like Provenrad said above - the road ones have a quill. That's the only difference.

For future double strap adopters - I found that it helped to get a pair of pliers and squeeze each strap so that it bends to form U shape (imagine a tenner and folding it in half longways) working your way from the tip of the strap down to where it doubles up...if that makes sense. It makes the straps go slightly concave and helped me massively threading them through the holes.
