Now this is probably just me being cynical BUT you just did your first bike ride in 2 years setting out at midnight and riding 25 miles to Southend. Did you miss the last train home and (cough) improvise?
My first bike ride in many years was limited to round the block BTW.
there wasnt a train to miss one, at Victoria there was a big sign saying there was rail work on till the 28th
so my dad came and picked me up at half 5 in the morning cause my legs were like jelly after the 25 miles
i was in a rush to leave by midnight i forgot to look on the web for trains
i forgot my tool kit and puncture repair kit, food, money
lol i fuked up big time
Oh and I did do 2 10 mile rides the 2 days before
Like others have said, you had fun, so it's good as far as I'm concerned.
You should aim to improve upon your own times/distances, not compare them to others. train a bit more, do the same route again, maybe aim for 2hrs, then 1.5hrs etc. That would be "good" for me in your position.
thats what im going to do
every Saturday night at 12 a trip to south end me thinks
make sure ill take the things i forgot next time
