Yesterday I passed a personal milestone by hitting 30.2mph on my way back from work. Not bad for 69inch gearing I reckon. My spinny-training is paying off.
So, what's the fastest you've ridden on the road, and what gear inches were you pushing?
Edited to add - gearing is 47:18, 23c tyres. Speed measured with a Sigma BC800 computer (I was shouting at it - "come on, go over 30 you bastard! yeeesss!!"). For those without computers, Mare St southbound has a speed display sign, but you need to do it when there are no cars, or it measures them instead.
Being acutely aware of my lack of spinny, I had been riding 47:20 for a few weeks to make my legs go faster. That's about 60 inches iirc. Top speed on that was about 20.
