"hillbilly individualism and community mindedness" was an actual quote from the guide book i took with me there three years ago. it was referring to the sards that still lived up in the central hills.
anyway, sardinia was amazing. i wasn't riding but wished i was. i was there in november and the weather would have been perfect for cycling. prices are cheaper then (obviously) but the downside is some places you may want to visit will be closed. we tried to break into ghrotto having successfully broken into the ticket office. alas, no keys to be found.
