Samantha, its best not to post your mobile number this way. Post in the Private: Phones Numbers thread
Sorry about your bike. Hopefully there should be CCTV coverage of the area. Ask the police (or directly ask nearby businesses) if you may have access to their CCTV recoding for that time.
It will help if you have a Crime Reference Number.
I've got a 27.2mm seatpost you can have.....

A forum member just sent me a PM, and said they saw My bike being sold on Brick Lane between 2-3pm by the two kids.
I had not mentioned it had Christoper straps, and that was something he spotted.Cant believe they must have just rode straight to the market.
So anyone know someone who bought a Charge from Brick Lane yesterday?!And if anyone gets a bike stolen, you need to go straight down to the market to catch them.

AAARRGGHH
makes me so angry. sorry to hear about that.
do you mind if i ask you what lock you were using? its very helpful to know which locks / techniques are being easily beaten in daylight.here's hoping you get a new bike sorted asap.. if i had any bits lying around i'd donate them!

I saw it being sold too. On Sclater st about that time.
I saw it and just wished I had an iPhone so I could have posted it up on the forum. Unfortunately I was at work at the time. Sorry. -

We should all be on the alert and quick off the mark when things like this happen, and march to that scum market called Brick Lane where you can by a spoon, one shoe and an obvious stolen bike right under the nose of the police. Things have calmed though so I should not be hard on the police. If I see your bike I will help get it back for you. I have had enough of personal theft, a girl in the pub stole my coat (£160) I bought for £60, my only warm coat that was perfect for cycling, then going out, then going to work.
Post up pictures. -

would be good to know what lock you were using too

we are currently dealing with police, club owner etc. it is only a coat and not a bike, so I am feeling for you lots.

I'm so angry for you, that's so crap.
You know how angry I was and I only had my saddle stolen. It sounds like it's most definitely still in town, and still east, just have to try to keep eyes open and see if we can see it about. It might happen...fingers crossed.

Yeah, so sorry about that... The guy who rode off on it was trying out another SS when I first saw him, the Plug was on the other side of the little market on Sclater Street... I saw the guy wobbling off on the Plug down Shoreditch High Street when my gf and I were on our way home... He turned right onto Great Eastern Street... Looked Italian/Spanish to me, obviously his first time on a fixed bike...

Sorry for your loss Samanthah...
I was in Kiwi Cycles in Vic Park village last week speaking to the fella behind the counter and he reckons that it's one bunch of kids who keep piching everything in the area and keep trying to scope out the shop. Bikes have even been swiped from outside the shop when customers are inside! He may know of the culprits, could be worth a chat?
Lock type please!!

I still can't start threads... but my Fuji Track was also stolen yesterday 56cm with a brooks saddle. between 4-5pm opposite the Golden Hart outside Allsaints. This is really starting to piss me off only two months ago my Charge Plug Racer was stolen from the same place!!! I had the Fuji for 8 days, I'm destroyed!

That sucks massively - thankfully I haven't had a bike stolen yet so I don't know what it feels like but I can imagine it must be horrible, but I have to ask - you did lock it up with a decent lock didn't you?
-
• #14
christ, that sucks. What lock did you have on the one outside allsaints?
I'm really suprised that no one says anything when they see bikes being stolen. Sam told me that the guys that tooks hers had bolt cutters in broad daylight and there were people everywhere!

I listed teh lock on the main stolen section - clearly not good enough
-

oh yeah, i saw it in that thread. Those locks really are not very good I'm afraid. But I'm very sorry to hear you lost your bike.

NOTHING less than top-of-the-range locks will do in London, I'm afraid. And even then, in the wrong area... :(

I saw my first Pug in my local shop yesterday (We don't get fixed much in Cardiff) it looked great. Given the shop, I was surprised. Want one!

jonny youre such a bike.
I had my new Charge Plug (in small) stolen from Victoria Park village.
It is navy blue, with a white Charge logo on the frame and white rims.
Brown charge saddle, chrome Azonic double walls riser bars & black ODI grips.
Any help on where I should look, or if anyone sees it for sale or around town, please let me know.
My number is in the phone numbers thread
The thieves were 4 black 16 - 18 year old boys, one with an afro, 2 drove off in a White Ford Escort. It was 1pm on Sunday afternoon, by a café where people were seated outside. I did not get a registration from the car as we were too busy chasing the little shits down the street.
Also, I am now going to try and put together an old beater so I at least have a bike! Any old frames/parts people have for cheap sale, I would be VERY grateful.
This was my Christmas present so I am gutted.
