Right, so me and me pal Mark have booked the 11th to the 22nd off work and are flying to Paris with bikes and camping gear on Sat the 9th, coming back on Sat the 23rd.
We're gonna ride pretty slowly. Google maps says that the shortest route (avoiding highways and tolls) is about 330 miles. So I reckon, in addition to going off the route a few times to visit nearby villages for food, booze and camping facilities, we'll do about 450 mile. We're planning on doing 50-80 miles a day, which is a piece of cake, and having one or two rest days where we just chill and get pissed. With all the fannying about we'll probably get to Amsterdam the following Sunday.
And of course, once we get to Amsterdam we're gonna get lean on herbs, kip in a bed and breakfast if we can afford it, then we'll probably ride to the nearest freezing cold beach and spend a few days camping on the sand and swimming in the sea.
If anyone fancies doing the ride with us or meeting us in AMsterdam for a pedal and a smoke and a coffee, let us know innit.
