[cough]........lfgss winter hill climb championship...........[/cough]
as there ever been one, who would be interested. man/woman and machine against the hill and the clock. there's a nice long drag out kent way called cudham lane that would be perfect unless there are other suggestions.......... just a thought.
Good idea. I hate hills and I think I'd give it a go. A fixed only hill climb, back to the old days. Would be especially fun for those who don't have the parts/inclination to change their gear beforehand, or better yet, do change their gears, but ride all the way out to the climb on 56"s.
Chalkpit Lane from Oxted would be a true test. Even BMMF might agree that it's a hill then.
Cudham's barely a hill, and way too long for a hill climb, Chalkpit's much more like it. Short but steep.
Good spectating for those wise enough not to attempt it then a nice opportunity for a pint somewhere off clarks lane, which is the highest road in the South East of England, and as previously mentioned, has some pretty fantastic views.
Could do it sooner rather than later, though hill climbing is usually an end of season thing.
