Spent a fortnight there last summer, the prices are much higher in August. Avoid it if you can. Camp site on the beach to the north of Alghero is only about 15 mins from the airport. http://www.lamariposa.it/ Perfectly fine if a little cramped and full of herberts teaching kiddies capoeira. Hired (shit) bikes from the campsite and found the coastal roads to both the north and south of Alghero fine. Spent a few days on costa smerleda, (millionaires/billionaires playground) again in a campsite, was expensive and spaced out. As I've posted before, riding in 35+ degrees with normal suncream is a muthafucka. P20 FTW.
