Just to add weight to the whole social messages... Polo and pubs can be attended by non-combatants (excuse the metaphor). i don;t really dig polo but spectators are all all hanging, watching and supporting, you'd be surprised how much fun it is, I reckon. the final last week of the Valentine tournament was brilliants to watch, it really was. Take a train into to town one sunday and check a decent tournament out.
As for night riding... hope you got some decent lights. Go for it when you can hook up with some people, its a lot safer doing it with some other people.
This forum does plenty of night rides when the weather warms up a bit, and a few in the cold. The bigger ones can be cumbersome but if you see one organised more last minute stylee, definately hop on the train and come down.
Or maybe you could organise one into Essex for us, show us some new stuff that you know but we don't, perhaps start nearer town and take us into your neck of the woods, and loop back towards town or a decent train service that runs late. Seriously. We'd come. I would anyway. I promise you you won't regret it.
Cheers man, a really good thread. Booze is boring. Welcome to the forum.
