Cambridge - Paris

Hello fellow cambridge fixers

Thought i would start a new thread letting you fellow cambridge cycle enthusiasts know that me and now 7 friends are plotting a charity cycling trip to Paris from our home town in mid to late June 2009. We are doing this off our own backs, so no pre-organised stuff here. We are planning the route, places to stay, sponsorship and donations, advertising, and everything else so we will obviously have to pay our own way for things like accomodation, food, ferry, etc.

If you fancy joining us in raising money for CLIC Sargeant (supporting kids with cancer) let me know on this thread or by PM, or even if you have any tips for us if you have done this before.

I will also be doing training for it, 20 milers initially and moving up to 50 miler overnight stops closer to the time, which i will let you know about if you wish to join to help egg me on! One idea is to bike to Norfolk and camp, then bike back, one weekend.

fixed or geared?

most are geared, i'm pondering getting a geared bike for it to be honest. something a bit more touring oriented..
