didn't know there were trails in sutton park. every time we tried to build some there, they got ruined by mtbers. i havent seen many pics of suttons jumps, dunno if they're any good but its if you want a good rhythm section get the train to walsall and then pedal about 5 or 6 miles up to burntwood trails (i think they're called sandhills or brownhills). I dunno if bmxers still ride there, but plenty of mtbers do.
last time i went i was riding a brakeless street bike (dragonfly dfx) with Rekka pegs, which must have weighed about double that of a decent trails bike at the time (nowadays a trails bike is probably lighter than one rekka peg lol).
there are at least 3 lines there with 5 or 6 jumps in a row - the one on the left is massive, couldn't get to the end of that one. middle one's big but easy, proper stoked feeling when you get through it, but i always lost so much speed by the last set that i could only just about clear it, could never bust any tricks over it. the one on the right was impossible as the first jump is just bare distance from the landing - we were trying it for ages, going as fast as we possibly could, sucking the take-off up, and still landing on the backside of the landing. its a good job the back was soft cos i landed knee first on it the one time.
and of course burntwood skatepark is just around the corner from it... i miss riding there in the summer then driving home with a sprained ankle from a feeble to hard way 180 gone awry...
i heard that hardwick woodz in streetly are good as well.
i wonder if lichfield trails are still there, by the army barracks, i heard they got deleted ages ago but who knows.
