how practical is it to use mtb/dh cranks on a track bike?
it isn't practical at all!
they are simply not designed for it, overbuilt and with dimensions made for mountain bikes.
with a much wider Q-factor and longer crank length you'll strike the banking, also the BDC will be smaller,meaning you won't be able to get proper sized chainrings
