mega fails. :D

re squashed chainstays. Unless you have a hard case you should always put dummy axles / spacers in your forks and frame.

I have a look one that is great, soft bag, with wheels on.Get a couple of wheel bags as well for extra packing!
Then to stop the stays being crushed chuck a couple of old hubs in the drop outs, ask your bike shop, as they may well have some lying about. And then get the pipe lagging etc and a bike box, and your done.
I think the cycle sport bagsare the same as my look, and go for around £100 (i paid €150 for mine.) -

But for the money they have...fuck it get a bike box.....look in Cycling Plus and Cycling Weekly for some good ones.....

Could you ask them for S+S couplers for your frame instead?

can you actually just add any S + S couplers on any frame? I thought it required a specific frame.

I think it depends on the tube set. Some very thin tube set may be more difficult to fit than others.

or if you cant wait, pac's are awesome.

I'd like the security and reassurance of a hard case, combined with the easy storage and low weight of a soft bag, with NOS wheels off a 1970s skateboard, and custom Bape graphics.

get a hard case if they are going to spend the money on you. I flew us to uk with one and my bike was just fine. not to mention you can lock them all up and you can put extra stuff in there and claim it as "padding" ha I had to pay extra to fly with it but it is so worth it.

p.s watch that the locks are safe though. the first few i looked at had dodgy locks.

good bike hard case, that is light ~7kgs. some of the cheaper ones are heavy at 13kgs.

I've owned a hard case for the past 12 years, they are a worthwhile investment if you intend to travel a lot with your bike. Bike bags are okay but they don't offer much protection from overzealous baggage handlers.
If I was buying one now I'd look at Bike Box Alan or the Polaris Bike Pod.

I wonder if I can get it done on the Bianchi Pista, I assumed any welder can able to do it?

i don't think so:
Can I buy couplings from S and S and install them myself?[INDENT] We're sorry but due to the technical nature of installing couplings, we only sell them to professional bicycle framebuildes. We don't sell to armature bicycle framebulders, welding shops, retail bike shops or other shops that do welding or silver brazing..http://www.sandsmachine.com/fbplist.htm

Bob Jackson, Lee Cooper (did frames for 14 bikes co), Roberts, Thorn, and Kinetic is on the list, it would be nice to make my Bianchi a travelling bike.
think I should get some S + S couplerer for the Bianchi, after all it be nice to have one bike to travel around the world.

start an new thread?
mackenzie, +1 on the hardcase from me if you're going to fly with it, but you'd need somewhere to store it when it's not being used which could be a pain, they ain't small!
Hello,
I know there have been lots of different threads about bike bags, but my issue is slightly different !
After a mighty 8 years, im about to leave work in a month or so and my work has offered to get me a really good bike bag for a leaving present .
Any recommends ? They will have a good couple hundred to spend on me.
Im going to be going away (hopefully USA/Canada and other places) so it will be used a lot and after my chainstays got squished on a trip to Berlin i really want a decent bag that i feel semi confident in handing over to an airline !
Thanks
