• i had what was thought to be psoriasis on my hands (and feet) since i was 21 (10 years almost), and after many many visits to the doctor, nothing was solved. One day, while studying japanese, a fellow student turned out to be a dermatologist, and he straight away knew it was cheiropompholyx, it's a form of eczema which is almost always misdiagnosed.

There's very few causes that have been proven, an allergy to Nickel is one possible cause. But the main thing seems to be when my auto-immune system is in full tilt (fighting Flu etc) it flares up. Most of the time it's ok these days. It used to get so bad that I couldn't pick things up and it bled. Now I ply it with E45 and it's barely noticable!
