Spotted in Manchester...

3 spots today and a minor rant.
Red no-name frame with welgo pedals and gold cranks/chainrings locked up outside the North Campus Guardhouse, opposite Retro Bar this morning.
Two bikes locked up together, and then seen being riden up at the top of Oxford road. One white frame with blue? tyres and bullhorns, and a Dolan with a shiney new white arrospok on the front. I shouted 'Do a Skid" but they were bombing it along, and now all my friends think I'm insane.

Also, about 3 single speeds with one brake. YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG. Seriously? Seriously? Considering I'm riding brakeless at the moment I know it's actually more dangerous in terms of the breaking power you loose, but you're still doing it wrong and are foolish for doing it so wrong. Bahh rant over.

i keep seeing singlespeeds with 1 brake, one guy was basically racing me home and when we got to some lights i nearly said something but thought it would sound abit arsey

single speed with one brake is fine. first london winter with snow and i'm still here 14 years later... that was a v-brake with hopped up lever on an old bsa touring frame with scampy ss dropouts... i kept an eye on cable and pad wear...

the scary one's were the polish messengers a few years back that were singlespeed - no brakes...

I kind of understand that in terms of breaking power it's fine, but I've just developed this dislike for it. It's just an ingrained hatred with no basis, but I'm going to stick it it. Why does anyone use a back break at all then, apart from cornering?

Ok that was a pretty major burn! I should know better than to be a hater, that is true. Basically I just forgot the race was on! I hadn't checked this in a couple of days and it skipped my mind! Sorry!
I won't be at the next Ride It Sunday either, cause I'm in London picking up wheels. After that I am as free as a cycling bird.
