  • That vid is sweet. Nice styles

  • Sparks FTW @ 4:18 :D ^^^

  • Awesome, slick, I like how fixed freestyle is evolving into some weird bmx/skateboarding/flatland/trials hybrid very interesting, long may it continue.

  • Can someone who does it give me a pointer. What do people get out of doing freestyle on a relatively awkward framed, big wheeled bike that they wouldn't get out of a BMX. I have ridden BMXes for 30 years and go back to them now and again and I know one thing - if I want to do anything approaching tricks I would grab the BMX over the road/track bike any day.

    Is it the additional challenge?
Is it the ability to actually ride the bike a distance in between tricks?
Is it because you look too grown up/large on a BMX?

Not trying to stir anything up, just interested.

I don't do tricks. I would ask OOL, but he sent me a (public) message today saying that he never wants to speak to me again.
As a few people have said above, trackstanding is not a trick, it's just something you need to do, and not only on fixed.
Skidding seems to me to be a useless waste of time and tyres.

  • ^ I never want to speak to you again Fruitbat!

  • Why not?
    Am I now completely unloved?

  • Coz you dont do tricks! ;)

  • HA! Says the dude who knows where to find pictures like ^that^

  • You apparently have never met me in person. They don't call me Jack "reacharound rusty" Crank for no good reason.

Need to get me one of those.

  • OK OK OK, I will take full responsability for the fix trix thing taking off here in London, but when I saw the Andy Pancake Wheelie on you tube,I must admit I thought aswell "gash". Then I heard that there was PRIZES to be won and sponsorships to be had. Something that was everyday fun to us, was a bit of business to others, and yes it's growing at an alarming rate, just last night Trafalger got invaded 30+ tricksters but not one FGLDN member:( They were to busy advertising at the car park "14 & CO",but they were still on form following the foot steps of the OOL/I do a trick you do my trick/monkey see monkey do,but you are not listening, your bikes are WRONG,we have moved on from the OVERSIZED FRONT END.I would like to say a big THANKYOU to all that came out last night and to the OG'S,good seeing you guys again.

Could somebody please post the andy pancake wheelie clip,it would be a laugh

  • yeah, i might get my son into it to make some money of him coz i was such a lame rider myself

  • or i might get a group of weirdo riders and cruz the streets looking rad.

  • WEIRDO RIDERS he says,I guess dressing up in drag and snogging one another is really cool.I think I will stay with my WEIRDO CREW (couriers) thankyou.I can only imagine what you cool people (hipsters) get up to behind closed doors.

That's not really relevant because skidding isn't exactly a 'trick'. I happened to learn how to skid when I was at TrixieDix, but the reason I wanted to learn was for me to be able to stop on the road. fruitbat, do you run 2 brakes? If not then I would expect that you wear you tyres down as much as anyone else and your not even doing 'tricks'.

How did you find out about fixed gear bikes and what got you into it. You definitely didn't invent it, so get off you high horse. It's not wrong, you just can't get your head around it.

  • ^I've not followed the whole OOL debacle but if that really is him there (is it?) I think I can see what all the fuss is about. Mental.

A courier in drag, a cool bloke and not weird, now I'm confused.

Is this coming from a guy who's bike collapsed beneath him.
I sir have customized my bike to get me from point a 2 point b as quick as possible, and whilst I am in waiting I can fuck about on it doing tricks of pleasure, but still give homage to its original form of a track bike.YEA MON!

Well I'm gald you got to see me 'breaking in' my bike! It perhaps wasn't the best wheel to be trying to do the larger tricks on. I thought you were against tricks on Fixed 700c bikes - they're too big?

Now you have confused me and Keanue,he really looked up to you,if that is you in the photo.

didn't have to come, but i bet its just coz you are lonely.

  • I'm sorry but if this the evolution of a fixed wheel for tricks I'm amazed............

It looks like a cheap mountain bike with big wheels.

Where is west end Dave? Does anyone know?

Have not seen him for ages!

  • OOL Were you on the bridges ride riding a Monaco Langster with Carbon Pace MTB forks?
