Woo!
Wilda, you've got PM's disabled or I'd ask you some questions, like, have you been to the polo bit of the forum (they don't bite there, I promise)?
Either way, see you on wed...
Well. that's the nursery thing. I'm not very talkative so it takes me ages to get over it. I think this is actually the last nursery post. Anyway, I'm really looking forward as bike polo is really appealing to me and I've never even seen it before apart from some youtube videos.

Hello guys and girls!
My first post and it's related to drinks.. oops.
Well, not really - I would love to attend but don't think I qualify just yet. I just had my bike (non fixed/single) stolen for the 2nd time in 3 months and am now thinking of buying a singlespeed - any advice on a good first would be much appreciated. I'm looking around the £500-800 mark as this is what my insurance should cover.
Hope to get some tips/chat too.

ugh, I feel (and look) like I've done a week's worth of drinking already. Think I might re-attempt the grandslam on a week when I'm not sick.
Will be at SE beers tonight though

531 for cornelius for making it happen and big respect to all those that turned up to traflgar square to show us newbies the way.

this is a great idea (as everyone keeps saying). It is abit intimidating introducing yourself to a formed group of friends.
I should even have a finished bike by then...I will be doing the North run hopefully, though the thought of you all judging me on my first bike makes me cringe. I am sure the copious amounts of beer will help...
I remember feeling all worried about being snickered at because of my bike, I quickly realized that no one gives a shit at all. We're all just happy you showed up.
You do however have permission to point, stare and laugh at mmccarthy's poo brown goth langster!

That's harsh man and slightly uncalled for.
Really you should be laughing at his highly suspect brake cable before you marvel at his imperviousness to all temperatures.

Great night last night. Nice to see the new faces and the old hands.
Thanks for tagging my saddle Skully(chops). I made a hash of replacing the saddle and ended up having a gooch massage all the way home. Why didn't you tell me about it when you took the bike for a spin?
Not the only thing I made a dogs breakfast of. I hope I didn't hurt your spok Clefty, as I was dithering and wobbling about trying to extricate my steed.
Note to self: Do not get so fucked up on a Monday.
Hey! it's Tuesday. Bring on South Easts!

TrixieDix
Okay so for TrixieDix tonight Crabtree and I will be meeting new people at Trafalgar Square from 6.45pm - I presume along with the other pub destinations, so bonus socialising to be had. At 7pm Crabtree and I will lead the way from Trafalgar to the TrixieDix car park, busting all kinds of Mash / Bootleg Sessions / Macaframa crazy shit as we roll, for example doing no-handed endos into the backs of cars, sailing over the roof, landing and getting back on the bike. We'll be at TrixieDix by 7.15pm, at which point we'll chill, chat, have a couple of beers maybe, while all the time concentrating hard on perfecting those things we want to get down.
Most people completely new to it should try and wire two things that aren't really tricks but are the most useful skills to have riding fixed: the trackstand, so you can wave your bottom around in front of buses at traffic lights, and the skid, so you can buy new tyres more often. A short educational presentation will be given on each of these should it be required. Beyond those first glorious, highly rewarding skills, the car park roof, as they say in E1, is whatever you want it to be.
