• We are looking to run some fixed gear sprints in Hackney Wick on the 27th for those looking for a break from polo/trix/rolla racing. Sano has located an amazing spot and we figure on having people down there around 7pm, running timed sprints with the leading contenders then going through to a series of elimination drag sprints (course is around 250 metres give or take quite a few metres). Good opportunity for those who want to try their legs out before Herne Hill opens.

Plan is for people to gather at Royal Inn on the Park (aka East Drinks) at 6:30pm, leaving for the site at 6:40pm. Royal Inn on the Park's location can be found below.

We'll look to get location down on a map for those looking to get directly there soon although would recommend the above meeting point for those who aren't so familiar with Hackney Wick.

For those needing to check details - I can be reached on the number listed from the following link

    Directions

Basically, get yourself to the Bethnal Green Road end of Old Ford Road and head straight down it (East). Old Ford Road is probably a mile long with inclines and a few twists - just keep going straight and you'll be right. The road goes over a canal, past Victoria Park on your left then over a roundabout at Grove Road (if you go left here, you'll end up at the Royal Inn on the Park, or East Drinks). After that, the road goes over another canal and a mini roundabout, before ending up at a crossroads with traffic lights.

Go over the traffic lights and on your left is Old Ford Supermarket (also known as Fred's).

The sign is bright yellow and lit up. Buy your beers here (Kroney, 6 for a fiver, etc). Carry straight on down to the footbridge and go over.

On your left as you go over is the Big Yellow storage.

This is a pretty good landmark if you get lost as the chimney is the biggest thing in the area and is really close to the Greenway, where the Sprints are going to be. After the footbridge, turn left at the roundabout and up the slight hill to the roadworks and traffic light.

The Big Yellow Storage is on your left. On your right is the roadworks

Go through the gap which is the entrance to the Greenway

If you get to some steps, you've gone to far, the Greenway is behind to the right. Ride down the greenway for about 500m and you'll see us. The first 100m is not well lit, so man up and get pedalling.

Map of how to get there

For those more digitally minded, the following is a rough idea of where we'll be.

Don't forget meet at Easts 6:30 to travel with a crew and bring a cup if you feel like some soup

    Spoke cards to come...
