What's with people riding without grips? I find it really strange seeing as the whole point in grips is that they give you 'grip' (duh) and a hell of a lot more comfort than bare metal. Plus I think they break up the bars and bit and make them lot nicer.
-
• #6213
I don't ride with grips but then again, that's because I tape my bars.. I know what you mean though, when I first got my shiny nitto drops I ran them untaped for a while when it was warm and that was fine until the weather changed and my hands started slipping off and feeling the cold..
However, I've heard from a couple of people that they've found gloves that give them enough grip on bare bars and as I said, it wasn't particularly uncomfortable or slippery when the sun was out (problems only really seem to be when it gets wet/cold and without gloves)

I've got bare bars and use a pair of sealskinz gloves, no problems with it, gonna get tape when the warmer weather hits as the thought of wearing heavy gloves in warm weather isn't too nice.

Such a cool space. I have a lock up but its about 2.5 metres by 1 metre. Basically I could fit one of your motorbikes in there (or in my case 8 bike frames, 3 of which are complete bikes)

Second fixie: a Raleigh 20 non-folder. Beater would be too high-fallutin'. This is a tootler.

Maybe he is? Shock horror! Children manage to operate internet. Banks crash worldwide. Widespread famine reported.

Looks like he's also on the Jubilee line - i'm guessing westminster station?

I'll cough up a photo of my fixed gear and maybe my ugly mug in the next few days... I'm down a backwheel and... admittedly there's no hope for my face.
Anyway, just to counter your photos of snowy wonderlands, hope for the future...
Excuse the lack of handlebar tape/general condition of the existing handlebar tape... I wasn't planning on riding this for a few more months but had some wheel problems on the fixedgear and had to have something.
On the plus side it's a delight to ride.
