All the stuff they put up in the library is usually bollocks.
Crash locations, *done well. *Could actually be really good.

It might be, but that shouldn't stop you.
As long as you feel that there is some kind of value (in the very broadest sense of the word) in creating that kind of exhibition, then you should do it.

Do it, shoot on a wacky format like 10x 8 Polaroid or cross process even lith print.
Its a winner. -

however exhibiting in a converted warehouse in hoxton would make it cutting edge -

I am pretty sure it has already been done at last years London Calling event by Jono Atkinson, former Metro courier. Difference is that he photographed spots where London couriers have died.
