Machined? Not machined?

What is the difference between CXP 30's and CXP 33's? Are 30's still available?

As far as I know, the CXP30, much like the 12 and 14 are discontinued, annoying really as they're lovely non-machined, now all you can get is just a machined CXP33 rims (which is still nice).

Not sure about those ones but mine are machined - from the photos I reckon those ones probs are too. 30s are no longer in production but come up occasionally on ebay

Both pictured are machined, the CXP14's are the non machined version of the CXP30's. Both have not been manufactured for some time and they are very nice.

I run a CXP30 front and 14 rear on my normal wheelset. This is my spare wheelset that I had intended to run just at the velodrome but haven't made that much use of them, so they have to go!

CXP33's are not as deep and the side walls are more rounded. CXP30's are similar to the DT Swiss RR1.2 but come to more of a point on the inside edge.

Is there anyway to stop the axles going rusty like that?

Thin bit of grease would stop it if your bothered, that discolouration (sp?!) just rubs off and has no effect :-) I wouldn't worry about it greatly.

I only ask as I have some of these hubs on order - i know that beauty is more than skin deep but it would annoy me. I will try some waxy lube. Better road grime than rust.

plus i do actually need both.. the front only thing was - in hindsight - more like a brain guff..

i was going to say that if you could find me a decent alternative I'd defo work something out with you.. but if you could find a decent alternative you'll probably take it yourself!! Have you found stuff but that's not quite right? is it specifically the cxp30's that you're craving?

this is super good of you I wasn't looking for specific cxp30's just a decent hardworking rear wheel to replace the one that was mangled by a cab the other day (twat)

in my vast and wide however search for a rear wheel i have got a wheel set rocketing its way to me as i type.
