I don't wanna be rude but I'm keep asking my self, why anyone will spend so much money on a bike, excepting the PRO teams ?
Never start mountain biking if you think that is spending money.

I noticed in one spot (I apologize if this is widely known and I'm repeating the obvious) that it was mentioned that Masis were badged as Confentes... as the link I posted above suggests Mario Confente only built 12 track bikes (or fixed gears anyway) some of this may not actually be Confente built...
(Keep looking at the photos to the right, there are more)

" One of the best frame builders in the world, an innovator and artist, was someone virtually unknown to most cyclists. His name is Mario Confente and was from nearby Montorio, only a few miles from Verona . Due to his tragic death** only 124 road bikes and 11 track bikes bear his name, **all considered masterpieces. The full story of Mario Confente is yet to be written but the piece by Russell W. Howe, written in 1998, tells part of the story. This blog entry comes about as I rode today with Pietro Guerra, and we discussed over an espresso topics ranging from Mario Confente to his days on the Bianchi team with Felice Gimondi. "

Yeah those Vanilla bikes (on the last page) are amazing. They're made in Portland (my home) Oregon, and I've only seen a few in person, but IMO some of the best custom frames available.
Check out his website http://www.vanillabicycles.com/ for some porn that wasn't posted.

White Industries new roadie crank that accepts any bolt circle chainrings.
(I think this may have been mentioned already here, no?)
Plus they got new pedals:
These wont fck up the soles of your footwear either and can accept double straps.
That MASI looks shit. Dont know why but it does...
I got a pair of those in the mail yesterday. Test riding them now. Anyone want pics?

built for a purpose though.. How long before someone with too much money buys that frame and sticks a spok on it?
the purpose here is porn

i rate Mr yamaguchi, but some of the frames he builds are a bit too "visionary" for my liking that looks like a brompton or something.
Don't get me wrong if someone offered me it i'd still take it, but i prefer his more conservative frames -
