To my knowledge SL blades have only ever come in straight blade form, oval for road, round for track

I don't know of an SL unicorn blade, columbus did make some tandem fork blades in uni crown.

Either way, they are rubbish tig welded unicrown forks.
PS, your mate is wrong, that fork clearly has a crown. And no, Just you that is stupid, I know what I am talking about.
