  • I was in Grant park on Nov4th
For days running up to the event
The city of Chicago were saying don't come down
The police were saying there would be trouble
Stay at home the local News TV said
Not hell, nor high water was going to stop me
I went down with my son and my wife
fully prepared to send them home at the first sign of bother
It turned out to be one of the most magical nights of my life
    Everybody was there
    Northside, southside, westside
    Every creed every color
    rich and poor
    young and old
    straight and gay
it was just like the big mans speach said it would be
Everyone that night was just so loved up and smiling
It was like bleedin woodstock or something
I have never been anywhere where there was such a lovely vibe
Even the OB were standing around drinking coffee and laughing
I spent the whole event sat under a tree in the park
Watching the big screens with my three year old boy George
There were 250,000 in that park
    Not one single arrest
    the next morning
I am standing in this lift with this old black fella
we just looked at each other and started laughing
It doesn't matter what happens now
the world changed that day in America
and it changed that day for the better
    I love you Chicago
