Cateye micro wirless has a back light and is around 40.00, also is very reliable. Had one one my mtb for nearly 2 years and it gets the jet washed and seems to be holding up fine.

ah nice, i have seen that one (or very similar) in shops for 80ish. wasnt really sure if cateye was a decent make, i always thought the lights were a bit rubbish.
not that i can imagine it being very good, but im supprised knog havnt made a computer with thier unique housing/attachment.

The old Cateye computers were built like brick shithouses (I lost mine sob).
Dunno about these new fangled wireless jobs. -

Knog have got a retro looking computer on the way - the N.E.R.D:
Why don't you get a basic Cateye or something, and then just mount a little LED which points at it?

Or, rather than stare into a screen for your ride at the risk of crashing, just pick a start point, finish point and use the timer. Work out your speed (if you must) when you finish.

? bulllshit, my aldi 12.50 one (with pulse meter) had a backlight, surely the high end stuff has that

Well my £200 Polar HRM has a backlight but it doesn't stay on (not sure if this can be configured or not?). I rarely use it though - maybe for the time on a Dunwich ride or something.

yeah, at the moment i have one of my old casios straped to my bars and i just work out the speed. but really i want a current speed to know how well im doing in certain sectors. and its just a bit fiddly.

"You are now proceeding West along Clerkenfixed Road at 27 kilometres per hour"
"Make a right turn in 400m"
"You are now proceeding North along Grays Fixiebike Road at 32 kilometres per hour" -

Garmin 705 has adjustable backlight.. And I'd call that one high end.. :)
Actually quite nice since 5% is enough to see the display in the dark without getting blinded by it.. -

Hey don't get the specialised elite turbo (should be turdo) wireless one i have, the back light makes the battery die very fast, and I'm often going a 80 mph max speed! I got it half price in condor, half price crap its still crap.

Cateye CC-CD300DW look good but havnt used it
i do alot of my riding at night, and set myself personal TTs as i dont have any cyclist friends to race with.
ive been shopping around for a fairly cheap computer, but i havnt seen any with a backlight. not even any expensive ones seem to have a backlight.
im not after anything fancy, i just want to be able to know my current/avergae speed at night without having to squint to see it.
can anyone recommend somthing? i dont really want to spend more than £60.
