really no one at all?

I think Leeds is just too far away for an alleycat. I too am single but I can't be arsed to go to Leeds.
EDIT although actually, I could be persuaded. Could be a fun day out.

That's why I posted it. If we could get a small crew together it could be a nice outing, we might be able to blag somewhere to stay or something as well.
Also, leeds is only like an hour and a half from birmingham. -

I would, cos I've never been to Leeds before (except for a wedding) but I hate alleycats, too much hard work, so no. In fact I don't hate alleycats, I hate cycling, except when it's really slowly with a group of men and women drenched by beautiful warm orange sunlight at around sunset, surrounded by trees and grass and with a picnic in my backpack.

It's just up in the rides and races section of londonfgss.com
http://www.londonfgss.com/newpostinthread14963.htmlThe alleycat doesn't need to be too intense if you don't want it to be, you can take a more pleasant pace and just go for DFL.
You interested at all? It's a saturday so we could attempt at making a day of it. although I don't know about fields in leeds. -

Maybe, but can't say for sure cos I might have to shoot someone that day. My GF will be in India on the day so it would be a good excuse not to stay in all day

Teew, are you coming on critical mass? could discuss this further then

I live hours away so probably not if it's a weekday - when is it?
What is still holding you back?
I'm absolutely up for it and, if you two were as well, we could go up around midday and get some nice riding in. I'll try to find out if any of the londoners or mancunians are going to be up early as well.
I basically think it's going to be a sweet day, with about 30 people confirmed already on the facebook group if I remember correctly. I'm pretty sure getting back is gonna be easy and, anyway, the guy running it seems nice enough so we could always ask him whether it would be cool to bunk on his floor or something.
To put more incentive in, the person to come first out of the birmingham crew can have a pint on me. Surely £3 is enough to convince you stingey bike punx? -

I'd show you what I made for her in lieu of a proper present, but it's too soppy to show to other people.
bah, it'll be the first valentines day we've spent apart in 6 years, i better make the most of it by getting really pissed and trying to snog other women then getting slapped.

It's always on a Friday.
I wish there were as many fixsters around when I went up to I Bike MCR in 2007, it would have been cool to have a crew racing with me on the rollers and at the Yo Fixie event. Likewise London's Calling 07 and 08, and likewise the Faster Pussycat race. But there is something pretty good about going somewhere new on your own, it forces you to socialise more with the people you meet instead of relying on your crew to talk to. Nowadays I just can't be arsed though, I hate riding a bike. Or maybe I just hate riding a bike in Birmingham 'cause it feels like yer on yer own and it's you the pedal pushing freak vs. 'normal' people in motor vehicles...

OK, I'll come.
PS what did you get for her (and is this the same gf that you were saying on the MOD blog that you were going to dump because she was boring and you didn't like her?)?
-
• #14
ok, wicked. Which train shall we get from Birmingham? I'm free all day so I'm open to suggestions.

You do realise it's Sunday and not Saturday?
-
• #16
the key to that question is in the words "6 years" ;)
and it was on here not on my blog...

Oh yeah, It makes no difference for me! I'll probably be going up on saturday to see some friends so if you just drop me a word when you get in town we can meet up. Messenjah, you coming?

Not certain - like I say, I might have to shoot someone on that day, but if not, then yeah why not.
-
• #19
look forward to seeing you guys here

Damnit, I am gonna shoot my mate's band The Detrimentals on that day. Sorry chaps
It's ace not feeling obliged to do all that faux-romantic bollox on valentines day this year... free to get pissed and have a larf with mates without feeling guilty. every day is a day for showing love to people, in whatever way that you feel is best... fuck being told what to do and when to do it and fuck those who profit from it...

damn right! you could win some awesome stuff! if your worried about not knowing Leeds- dont worry too much. the course is not too complicated, mainly your stamina that will be tested!
Yo!
I've got nothing else to do on valentines day so I'm thinking about heading up to Leeds for the race they're organising. Anyone else interested? Details are over in the Rides & Races section.
