Need To Know...

im after a new bike, i posted here yesterday looking for one and found this on ebay

i dont like bidding for things so i asked the guy if he would end the auction to sell it to me, he lives quite near me so it would be an ideal buy, he said to offer him a price, with the starting price at £50, im not sure what to offer him.

so what should i offer basically?

I would say £100 or so would be tops. It's not a bad bike but a bit old and doesn't appear to be very high-spec. But it doesn't seem to say what the frame size is. If it isn't your size, don't buy it. Bikes like that appear regularly on here and elsewhere. There's often stuff on the CTC buy and sell site.

I'd say £50 was too high. It's a cheap Raleigh and cost less than a £100 when it was brand new. It looks pretty knackered too.

dude if you're only gonna use the frame and forks then spend ~100 pundo on a nice used frameset....

and that raleigh has pretty horizontal dropouts, would work fine for a convertion

well....you're looking for a 53-55cm frame i would say
that on has wierd geometry for someone with long arms as the top tube is 58cm and a 52cm setapost

its a proper racing fit frame, might be a bit too long for you actually.

I would probably offer £60-70. I have the same bike - cheap, heavy Reynolds 18-23 tubing Fine for a starter/beater really.

Looks like you could sell on the wheel and rear cluster though, they look in good cond.
